A Letter from Abby & Ronnie

We always do our best to be honest with you all, and we’d like to come clean and confess that this podcast started with a shared google sheet about the Empyrean Series.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), neither of us know how to do anything halfway. So when we, two longtime friends who live in different cities, started voraciously reading the same books…we needed an outlet. We made shared spreadsheets, then a powerpoint deck, then we had an Onyx Storm release party…one thing led to another and soon we were joking about making a podcast.

The podcast joke lasted maybe two weeks before one of us made a Riverside account. Oops!

We weren’t exactly sure where to start since we’ve never podcasted in our lives — you’ve got two gals with degrees in mechanical engineering and tech jobs over here — but we knew we wanted to get into ALL the wild theories, so chapter-by-chapter didn’t seem like the best approach for us.

We decided to do topic-by-topic discussions that cover an entire series at once — to maximize depth of theories and selfishly have more fun gabbing. The format caught on pretty well and helped us (and our listeners) build our knowledge on these series and their worlds.

We recorded our first complete season on The Empyrean Series by Rebecca Yarros, and are currently recording and releasing one on the A Court of Thorns & Roses series by Sarah J Maas. We’ve loved building this community for you and with you, and hope to continue to do so for many more series to come!
